On July 9th the Lord called Stephanie by name and she answered the call. He took her home to get her rest and to ease all her pain. She was predeceased by her mother, Zenora M. Watson Sparrow, her father, Robert L. Powell and her brother, Robert L. Watson. She retired from the City of Chesapeake, where she worked in Environmental Services for 34 years. She accomplished many goals in life such as receiving her cosmetology license in 2002. She was also an entrepreneur. She sold designer bags and all types of hats, scarves, wallets and more. She was the top chef in the kitchen, where she specialized in “Soul Food”. Her mousse was to die for. Whatever you asked her to cook she would do it and she did it well. Stephanie was a comedian with a sharp tongue. As young people would say, she kept it 100. She was very giving. She always gave from her heart. At Christmas time, everyone would get a gift. She loved thrifting and could coupon like nobody’s business. She had a room full of products from couponing. Her greatest achievement was the day she gave birth to her only daughter, Jasmine Watson, whom she was so proud of. Jasmine was the apple of Stephanie’s eye. The love of her life, Alfonso Williams, who would sing to her when she was cooking and she would say, “Zoe! Get outta here, I’m going to feed you”. Her sister Marion, better known as Darlene, went to her sister’s aide in her latter days to make sure she was comfortable and taken care of. That is the love of a sister. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughter, Jasmine Watson, Sha’niya “Pudden Pops” Price, her love, Alphonzo Williams, her three sisters, Gladys Ricks (Willie) of North Carolina, Karen “Kaye” Moore (Jay) of Chesapeake, Marion Watson-Barrow (Douglas) of Chesapeake and Doris Harris (Tyrone) of Oakley Florida. She also leaves one brother, James L. Watson of Chesapeake. She also leaves her aunts, Shirley Blount, Doris Wingate, Beverly Bruce, Lorraine Rutledge and Annette Roberts. Also, two uncles, Waverly Whitaker and John Rutledge. She also had a best friend in Inez “Gidget” Mayo, they have been good friends for many years. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
